Message from the Executive Director

Welcome to the last issue of ARNOVANews for 2017. This issue contains a letter from our ARNOVA President, Mary Tschirhart; reflections and remarks from David Renz, winner of this year's Distinguished Achievement Award; and a recap of this year's conference.

As the staff prepares for another successful year, we invite you to begin planning for the 2018 conference, "From Relief to Resilience: How Philanthropy, Nonprofits and Volunteers Bridge the Gap between Crisis and Sustainability" from November 15-17th in Austin, Texas.

Have a happy new year!

Warm regards,

This year we also welcomed 16 undergraduate scholars who were..."

Many communities have suffered and governments have often fallen short of promises. In this context, nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, and voluntarism are more important than ever, but how best to carry out this vital work?
