#ARNOVA20 Conference Updates

Dear ARNOVA members and friends

It’s hot where I live. Overwhelmingly hot. It can be incredibly draining, sure, but it’s also a good, simple reminder that sometimes we just need to slow down and let the world go by while we sit right here for a moment and rest.

I hope you’re taking the rest you need. Sip some lemonade. Enjoy a breeze. Read a book (not to learn anything, rather just because it sounds good.) The world will wait until you’re ready to jump back in, I promise. And we’re going to need you; it only takes a brief look around to see fear and uncertainty running rampant. Many of us have realized that we need to figure out a new, equitable way of being in the world together and that the third sector is a critical piece of the puzzle. Practice self-care, because we need you at your best.

And when you’re ready to jump back in, I hope you’ll be excited with us about new adventures like the virtual conference we’re planning for November, and the possibilities that this new (forced) reality brings with it.

In this month’s newsletter you’ll find all sorts of early details about the conference – registration rates for this year (less than half our usual rates), the exhibitor package, and a request to send us ideas for our conference music playlist - as well as the Board election results, information about the mentorship program that will be kicking off and details about on-demand webinars.

Read up now or save the link to savor later. And if you get a chance, please let us know what you’re thinking – we’re here to support you and want to know what you’re thinking. Just like you, we’re evolving and want to be intentional about how that happens. Your voice is critical in shaping our future. To that end, I’ll leave you with this thought from my favorite author:

It’s like, at the end, there’s this surprise quiz: Am I proud of me? I gave my life to become the person I am right now. Was it worth what I paid?” - Richard Bach

Warm regards,

Executive Director
