Greetings ARNOVA members!

I am writing this just after attending another successful and engaging ARNOVA-Asia Conference, held this year in Taipei and Taichung, Taiwan, co-hosted by Tunghai and National Chengchi Universities. The board and staff are extremely grateful to our hosts for their time, generosity and hospitality. Next year’s ARNOVA-Asia conference will be in Seoul, Korea, June 11-12, 2020, hosted by Yonsei University.

I also want to update you on a couple of items related to our Executive Director transition.

First, the job description for the new Executive Director search has been posted here. Please share it widely with your networks and/or consider applying.

Second, I’m pleased to announce the board has selected Richard Klopp as Interim Executive Director from August 1 until we have a new Executive Director hired, which we hope will be by September or October 2019. Rich is already working with Shariq as Interim Associate Director so we expect a smooth transition. Rich lives in Indianapolis and has a PhD in Philanthropic Studies. He has been a member of ARNOVA since he worked as Associate Director of the Lake Institute on Faith and Giving at Indiana University several years ago. He has also led and provided management services to several nonprofits during leadership transitions and worked for over twenty years on internationally focused social change ventures.

You can meet him during the Aug 27 and Sep 26 upcoming “Chat with the President” online sessions. Please feel free to register and drop-in during the following times:

· Aug 1, 11am EDT

· Aug 27, 10am EDT (with Interim ED, Rich Klopp)

· Sep 26, 4pm EDT (with Interim ED, Rich Klopp)

Or please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or feedback.

Finally, please be sure to vote in our Board member elections going on right now. You should have received an email ballot already. If you have not, please contact our Membership Coordinator, Jesus Salazar, at

Thank you!
