Values, Religion, Altruism and Drawbacks Section (VRADS)

Each year at the ARNOVA Conference VRADS presents a Pre-Conference Session that is driven more by group discussion than the formal presentations in other Main Conference sessions. It is open to the public and attendees don't have to be ARNOVA members, enabling the section to connect with the local host community. Please join us in Austin for our interactive Pre-Conference Session Weds. November 14, 6:30-8:30 pm titled: "The Role of Religious and Other Local Associations in Disaster Relief: Houston and Earlier New Orleans/Katrina Floods". Co-Chairs D.H. Smith; Stephen Danley (Author) and Norman Dolch with invited speaker Terry Henderson, Disaster Relief Director, for a panel and audience discussion.

VRADS each year also judges paper submissions for the Best Student Paper Award of $300, which represents a topic that is relevant to Conference Theme and VRADS Mission.

VRADS feature sessions and events this year include:

VRADS SECTION LIGHT SIDE SESSION: Multinational Research on NPO Association External Impact - Thursday, November 15, 2:00 to 3:30pm, Room 616B, Panel Session

·Section "Meet and Greet" - Thursday, November 15, 5:30pm-6:15pm
