TIBS Panel ‘Theory Use and Theory Building in Nonprofit and Voluntary Studies: Editorial Perspectives’ – Save the Date!
The Section’s sponsored panel ‘Theory Use and Theory Building in Nonprofit and Voluntary Studies: Editorial Perspectives’ will take place on Thursday, November 17 at 3:45-5:15pm in Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill (Columbia C) during the 2016 ARNOVA conference. This panel is a response to the growth, diversification, specialization, as well as inter-disciplinarity in the field of nonprofit and voluntary studies. Key questions to be addressed are the roles of theory in our research and how scholars build theory. The panel will highlight perspectives from editors and co-editors of five major field journals, and would be of interest to scholars of all career stages. Presenters will discuss the current role of theory in nonprofit sector research, and how nonprofit and voluntary studies scholars can ‘build’ and ‘use’ theory to improve the field’s research.
