Best Paper Award: Pracademics Section members Emma Powell, Georgina Winfield, Alicia Schatteman and Kelly Trusty earned accolades this spring for their chronicled research, “Collaboration Between Practitioners and Academics: Defining the Pracademic Experience”. Their work was selected for the Best Paper Award at the 2016 Midwest Public Affairs Conference, hosted by John Glenn School of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University in Columbus Ohio on June 4, 2016. Award Committee Chair Michael Ford indicated that the paper was selected “because it broadly defined the importance of linking the work of academics with the real world. Ours is a practical field, and the survey and interview work detailed in this paper defines the collaborative space as through the eyes of both practitioners and academics. Its lessons are valuable to our field’s ongoing impact and relevance.”
