Abstract

Almost 10 years have passed since ARNOVA published its occasional papers series on social entrepreneurship. Since then, the number of conference presentations on both social entrepreneurship and the related concept of social enterprise has proliferated. It has been interesting and informative to watch the research progress over the years and, yet, one aspect of analysis is still missing from ARNOVA discussions: social enterprise in higher education. This colloquium will identify and discuss the myriad opportunities and challenges of engaging in social enterprise activities in higher education. The session will be divided into three sections: research, lived experience, and audience discussion.
