“Nonprofits in the Age of Big Data”

This colloquy explores the conceptual issues of ‘big data’ in both academic research and practitioner realms. Questions will range from the equity of access to “big data” to the potential expectations of enhanced performance outcomes associated with the use of big data. In true TIBS fashion, this colloquy will also critically challenge whether the hype around “big data.”
“Collective Impact in Theory and Practice”
Friday, Nov 20: 10-11:30 am
Collective impact is premised on the idea that large-scale social change requires broad cross-sector coordination among multiple organizations rather than isolated efforts (Kania and Kramer 2011). The panel will discuss whether collective impact is a new idea and what it does or does not offer in terms of theory and practice.
