Welcome Reception — (Thursday @ 6:30PM)
As noted, this event follows the Opening Plenary, and we hope all will attend. This is a time we are delighted to welcome newcomers to ARNOVA, and one when we know old friends will find one another. There will be refreshments. Please join us!
A Friday Night Bash (@ 8:00PM)
An informal opportunity to get to know one another with fun, food and festivities. The Local Arrangements Committee is putting together a variety of talent, music and entertainment, showcasing the non-academic talents of our members. (Volunteers still welcome.) Desserts, coffee and a cash Bar at the event. (Cost:
$15 per person.)
Conference Luncheon Programs
Thursday — “A Researcher’s Smorgasbord”
Back by popular demand, this opening lunch is designed as a time to meet new people, network and explore topics of personal interest. There will be a number of tables that are designated by topic (e.g, fundraising, or social enterprise). Box lunches will be available, and people can sit at a ‘topic table’ of their choice, or just find new (or old) friends. There will also be poster presentations on recent research spread around the room.
Friday — ARNOVA Awards Luncheon
Always a highlight of our Conference, here we hear about and honor some of the best work done in our field in the last year (and longer). Honors to be presented include: Distinguished Achievement and Leadership in Nnoprofit and Voluntary Action Research; the Rudney Award for Best Dissertation; Outstanding Book in Nonprofit Research and the Hodgkinson Prize.
Saturday — Luncheon and Closing Plenary
See the description of the Third Plenary (above). The Planning Committee hopes to send everyone on their way feeling both well fed and challenged by new ideas.

The Barnes Foundation was established by Albert C. Barnes in 1922, and is home to one of the world's largest collections of Impressionist, Post-Impressionist and early Modern paintings. Access is limited, so we are pleased to be able to offer ARNOVA’s this chance to see the collection. ‘The Barnes’ has also been the center of a only contentious legal battle that may be shaping future trust law. (There will be a special session in the Conference program on the Barnes Case.)
